M. C. Escher images have always fascinated me. They never cease to draw me into their alternative perception of the physical world. They are a metaphor as to how the seemingly impossible can be depicted in a way that is imaginable, if not quite comprehensible. They are the highest examples of how one person’s creativity can stimulate creative thought in others. They also provide a glimpse into the ways in which graphics can be used to describe things that could not be described in words, something that can be very useful in communicating analytical results.

The image at the top of the home page is the Taktsang Monastery in Bhutan. It is also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. It is a place of incredibly serene beauty and peace.
